We
often get asked,
"How much are your weddings?" While this
appears to be a valid question, stop and think a moment.
Would you call a jeweler and ask him, "How much
are your wedding rings?" Or would you call a
caterer and ask, "How much will it cost for a
catered reception?" Would you ask a florist, "How
much are flowers for the wedding party, ceremony, and
reception?" Of course you wouldn't ask these
questions over the phone or by email. You have to look
at available options, quality, and other factors in
order to make the 'right' decision.
So it needs to be with your choice of photographers.
Styles differ. Services differ. Coverage's differ. And
personalities certainly play an important role. Price is
important, but value is even more important. So why
would anyone call or email a photographer and ask "How
much. . .?" before expressing their wants and
needs and seeing what's available? For such an important
and personal decision as their wedding photography,
there's no "one size fits all" remedy. Invest
the time to visit several photographers so you will be
able to make an informed, intelligent decision on who
will be chosen to record this important day of your
life.
